This a beautiful site. I grew up attending mass at St. Cecilia's with my family. I also attended kindergarten through 8th grade when they had their middle school . I enjoyed the photographs, they brought back fond memories. I had wonderful friends and teachers. I remember Father Newcomb walking his dog (Dammit) around the schoolyard. I was a student the year that he "retired" I remember learning the special song "When Father Newcomb's smiling" Thanks for the memories... Sue

That's a great idea Eileen Raczka. I'll get on this soon and try to put together a photo gallery of as many graduating classes as possible. Have you noticed that I was able to rescue some of the older guest book entries from an archive?

Graduated from St Cecilia's in 1958. Parents remained in the area and were members of the parish up to th early 80's. Myself, went to Aquinas, graduated in 1961, went into the Air Force and now, residing in Florida. Great memories, remember Father Newcomb, and enjoyed the pictures/slide show.

Really good website----enjoyed seeing all the old photos -----brought back great memories. I graduated from St. Cecilias in 1972 and my 3 brothers graduated from there too. We lived right across the street at 60 Brower road, our lives revolved around St. Cecilia's for 22 years. My Mom and Dad moved to Florida in 1979 (Bob and Maryann Davidson) Rcdmad2@aol.com. Thanks for the great information.

Nice to see that my old parish and school has a website. I need some help, however......

I graduated from the school in 1983 and I'm trying to get info regarding a teacher that helped me very much while I was there. Her name was Mrs. Hiller. Unfortunately do not recall her first name. I was told that she had suddenly passed away a couple years ago, but I haven't been able to get any other info. Can someone please help? Thanks

please e-mail me at: eric.ribitsch@lmco.com OR maxsam@twcny.rr.com

Thanks : )

If you believe this is a great Web site, drop us a line in this Guest Book. Our pastor, Fr. Kevin McKenna, is an avid reader of this Web page. So...give him a hello, especially if you are a Blue Jay fan.

It's nice to see the history of the church I grew up in.
For those who may remember my family, this is Jennifer Crosby, youngest daughter of Bill and Edwina Crosby. My family attended St. Cecelia's for many years, until my father retired in 1979 and we moved to Florida.
Several of us (Mom included) are in the Phoenix area now. Sadly, Dad passed away last April, 5 days after his 79th birthday.
It was nice to see pictures of Father Newcomb in the history section. I have many fond memories of him.

Dear Father McKenna: A young priest used this story as his entire homily here at St. Peter's in Naples, FL. Jesus and his apostles were visiting a temple. They were rather shabbily dressed. Jesus noticed that the members of the temple were rather elegantly dressed. He inquired about this and was referred to the man who made the clothes for the congregation. Jesus had this man outfit the apostles and that is how the association of Lord and Taylor was started.
Cute story and the mass was unusually short. Have a nice winter.

I have been going to stc. since we moved into the area, 2yrs ago. I have to say it has been a good spiritual experience. Fr. McKenna is very refreshing. He is not bad for a Blue Jays fan, I admire his loyalty to his team. Have enjoyed all the functions. My main impression has been, that even though you do not have a regular school, your parish has not given up on the children, like many other parishes. This, to me is a sign of strong leadership & strong faith community. BLESS YOU ALL!
