Catholic Yout Networking

Catholic Youth Networking is a site for Catholic young people, dedicated to providing a web-based environment where they can learn about their faith, share their thoughts, and link to other interesting websites. The overall design of the site is excellent making it easy to find the large number of resources offered. It is well worth a visit for "youth" of all ages.

Catholic Youth World Network (CYWN) is a worldwide network of Catholic youth that work in clubs in cities throughout the world to build a new world based on Christ's values.

YOUTH NEWS

 

June 2008

For our younger youth, Sara and some great student helpers will be holding a Super Saturday Event for children 6-9. The date is Saturday, June 28th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. There will be a story telling, skit, crafts, music, games and a movie if there is time, and snacks.
Cost: FREE

Parents are welcome to stay. Please contact Sara Schmerbeck at 467-4286, x104 to register your child by June 25th.

July 2008

Games will be on Thursday evenings, starting on July 10th. We will be using the field behind the Rectory for home games. Practices will be on Monday Evenings @ 6:00. Parents are encouraged to come and cheer. Also for away games, I will need help driving. I will try to work something out to help with the cost of gasoline.

Project Runway

August 2008

Any teen interested please contact Sara Schmerbeck at St. Cecilia's Parish 467-4286, x 104. We are looking for children's clothing (10-14 years of age) for back to school. You must submit your design, by July 20th, 2008. You are responsible for buying the materials needed. After the fashion show we will be raffling off the outfits, which will help reimburse your expenses.

High School Seniors

The Hands of Christ Award is given to high school seniors who have given their time and talent to help their parishes and community. If you know of any youth who fits this criteria, Please contact Sara at 467-4286, x104.

High School Students: Service Opportunities

We have openings for Faith Formation Classroom Aides and hall monitors for our Monday evening program. We meet every other Monday evening (with a few exceptions) from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. from September 22, 2008 through April 20, 2009.

We also welcome you to join us in ministry as a Lector or Communion Minister if you have made your Confirmation. It's a wonderful way to become actively involved in your parish community! Any high school student interested in fulfilling community service requirement, please call Mary Ann Noto in the office of Faith Formation/Liturgy at 467-4286, ext. 106.
